The Hollywood Arts Council was founded in 1978 to address the role
of the arts in Hollywood. The Council has developed into an
action-oriented organization working for the benefit of the community of
Hollywood through the arts. Through the years, the Council has initiated
a number of projects including the Discover Hollywood Magazine, the
Hollywood Arts Affair, the Hollywood Bowl and
City Walk Arts Fairs, the
Children’s Festival of the Arts, Picture Hollywood Photo Exhibit,
Hollywood Blvd. Banner Project, the L. A. Marathon Hollywood
Entertainment Stage, Community Mural Projects, dedication of public art
projects, open house arts venues, the Jazz Pilgrimage Concert,
Project
S.O.A.R. (Students Overcoming All Risks) and the annual Charlie Awards
Luncheon honoring achievement in Hollywood.
