21st ANNUAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

annual CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS will be held
August 6th from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Studios, 5555 Melrose
Ave.
This Free Children’s
Festival is a celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood. The
festivities will include a full schedule of performances featuring a
variety of music and dance from around the world to entertain the
entire family.
Also, an assortment of arts
workshops will provide children with a choice of activities and
“take home” art pieces they create themselves. There will be face
painters and many surprises to delight young and old alike. Food
will be available for purchase.
The Hollywood Arts Council is a
community-based organization founded in 1978 to promote, nurture,
and support the arts in Hollywood. The free annual Children’s
Festival of the Arts is one of many projects and events presented by
the Council to enhance the quality of life in the city. The
Council’s projects also include Project SOAR (Students Overcoming
All Risks), a free after school art program presented in seven
Hollywood area elementary schools which has served over 2,000
children since 2001.
The Hollywood Arts Council also
secures funding from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural
Affairs, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, Paramount Pictures,
Eastman Kodak Company, Walt Disney Company, Capital/EMI, Hollywood
Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Eisner Foundation, and the
Entertainment Industry Foundation.
Paramount Studios is located at
5555 Melrose Avenue between Van Ness Ave and Gower St. There is
